ELPA is a registered Community Based Organization (CBO) whose activities included; facilitating community peace dialogues, supporting community cultural events, tree planting, anti-jigger campaigns, girl child mentorship programs and advocacy against teenage pregnancies in Mt. Elgon Sub-county. Due to its registration status, Elgon sisters CBO could only operate in Mt. Elgon sub-county in Bungoma County. Since there was demand for Elgon sisters CBO services elsewhere in Bungoma and the neighboring counties, Elgon sisters CBO leadership made a conscious decision to upgrade the organization to national Non-Governmental Organization(NGO) currently operating in five counties namely; Turkana, West Pokot, Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia, Bungoma and Busia.

To serve and empower communities affected by conflict with resources and tools to move crises and poverty to sustainable peace and development.
